ok la. not bad la.

received Economist's "Gulliver's best: business-travel news from Economist.com" this morning in my mailbox, and came across this article: Living it up in Vienna

scroll down.. and you realise that 'in a separate ranking of infrastructure ("based on electricity supply, water availability, telephone and mail services, public transport provision, traffic congestion and the range of international flights from local airports")', Singapore is actually ranked No. 1! (hmm how come the newspapers haven't bragged about it and blow trumpets from the rooftop? =P)

So i clicked on to read further: Quality of Living global city rankings 2009 – Mercer survey

Hmm Singapore's actually the top scoring city in Asia (at 26), improving 6 places since 2008. well after looking at the MRT lines in future and the road networks (i'm trying to get the map of future road networks.. anyone has?), i should say not bad la hor.. in this aspect Sg deserves a (big?) pat on the back.

"thankfully" things like "Worldwide Press Freedom Index" or "Civil Liberties" are not included in this index: see how Singapore fares there.

This is also a little exciting.

hmm too bad... i like to compare =P... future rail map of Hong Kong; it matters to me when i go there every year... haha
but looks like HK is already so cramped there isn't much space left for extension (HK is much more hilly than Sg ya noe...) nonetheless i think it's already quite impressive given the space constraints. rail is the way to go manZ!!

This gets me a little excited.

was googling ard over lunch when i came across this - the possible MRT lines in future:

wow it suddenly looks like London. why buy a car then when MRT goes almost everywhere? *a little excited*

Tough Love.

Watched this abt 2 mths back when the DVD just landed in Singapore. This part is especially poignant, at least to me...

[“How am I supposed to show love for somebody who over and over and over constantly rejects me?” As the camera swings around to include a crude wooden cross in the frame, John quietly responds, “That’s a good question.”]

i sometimes feel i'm frens to some people because i listen to them, i can solve problems for them, i can give them some forms of advice, i can be there when they need me...

but when the skies are clear, roads are smooth... like laundry, i'm high and dry. wad's going on in my life? - dunno, dun care, dun bother. so...有事钟无艳,无事夏迎春?

nonetheless this reminded me dat's wad i do to Jesus most of the time.. i pray like crazy when there's trouble... when things are going on fine i'm too lazy even to flip the Bible... but He's still there for me each and every time.

So wad's so big deal man Gordon? thought you wana live like him?

yes, 顽抗爱下去.

Musings 2.

The Milky Way. From http://liquidthinker.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/milky_way_galaxy_sun05.jpg

Psalm 8:3-6 (New International Version)

3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?

5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.

6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:

7 all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

Musings.

Supernova Cassiopeia A. Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassiopeia_A

How do we characterize infinity?
How can we ever characterize eternity?

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
