once u start work.. Friday takes on a whole new meaning.. haha TGIF!!!! *laze ard on my dad's fav reclining chair*

work's piling up! basically my boss thinks i should be handling all the cases from now on so that i'll know the system quickly before i start participating in policy work... as much as i foresee myself do cases until face green green.. i haf to agree with him.. basically i'm taking over this guy who is obviously a high flyer and he has lots of ideas for improvement... just trying to understand what he's been doing concurrently took me one full day...

ok. i think i haven't explain what i'm doing now. basically i'm in Singapore Land Authority (SLA), Project Services - Revenue Tender Team. (ok i see blank looks) My team oversees all tender processes (i.e. renting, NOT sale.. so it's "short term") state property + land managed by SLA... so most probably if u see a sign which states "State Property" and next to it "For Tender / Rent" etc., most probably it's my team which is in charge...

ahh ok i think i shd stop here. i'm typing 10hrs in front of the comp everyday so i'm not v keen to type more here :P till next time~

Of work, movies and MCs..

yes i noe i've not been updating my blog ever since i started work on the 13th... so here i am.. haha~

as for work, to put it succinctly:-

• the pl are nice, or at least tries to make me comfortable... my boss is really nice i must say
  
• the work is totally new stuff, so the novelty hasn't wear off
• it's really nice to be home 20mins after i knock off
  
• i haven't found my standard makan kaki so i better secure some soon

my name-tag finally came on Monday
my temporary workdesk - will be moving in August

yeah another thing... i've managed to watch 3 movies in the past 2 weeks with junlin.. cuz we both have been overseas and have to "play catch up".. and i realised the beauty of the UOB card which gives me $6 ticks offpeak Mon - Thurs =P

and some not so nice things...
yes i gana flu and cough. not very serious, budden enough to make me cough a lot and feel groggy for the whole day... and i was given 3 days of MC, but i think i better take 2 and go work on Friday.. i'm just in my second week and if i take so many MCs it really looks ugly... well i took a flu jab in May, i.e. i shd be protected against some of the common infections... well who noes? maybe i'm inside the 53% statistics?

k that's all from me. gona finish up some translation work for Church. who says MC stay at home shake leg one???

Price differential at it's best

these few days were super busy getting my working stuff in order, rearranging my hse furniture and throw away old stuff, clean up n mop n wipe, and fix the stupid desktop which has been spoilt for 2 yrs... naturally sim lim is my best fren for my computing needs...

maximumpc is THE geeky computer mag which i've been reading since army times, and i bought a copy few days ago... yesterday i went to sim lim again to buy things for my desktop and i went past a mag store, so i went to check whether there're any backdated issues.. and i saw this:

offhand the packages look exactly the same... but the price differential is crazy.. there're no extra cds / pages / freebies for the $21 'version', and the thickness are the same. tsk. i wonder how they do business.

anywayz. i didn't buy fr this store n got mine a couple of days earlier for $16.50. *faintz*
