To prove: My thesis report just doesn't like me.
Case 1:
NUS Student Union & some environmental grp sent email last sem saying faculties have agreed to allow double sided reports to save paper + NUS colour printing A4 size cost an exorbitant
50 cents a piece --> i printed all the colour pages with double sides (at HIGH quality, 3 copies) at home, thinking that i should then go sch print the rest (B&W is cheap). However, an email came & said report must be
single-sided so my colour ink was totally wasted. (thankfully I haven't printed the other B&W pages yet)
Case 2:
Actual printing day the Sci Lib printer had some errors and my printing got truncated & there were missing pages --> went to Uncle for help but the lousy Adobe Acrobat
FIVE installed in the comp (excuse me, that's JURASSIC!!!) cldn't read my pdf created in Acrobat 9, so I have to transfer to another comp which makes the process complicated --> at the end I have to photocopy some pages & print some pages --> during the confusion
I forgot to retrieve my cash card from the printer --> almost $8 gone. shiok.
Case 3:
Report handed in and I thought that's it --> received email from prof within a day to see him --> he was unhappy with the
formatting,
which I followed closely from his very own previous fyp student's report I found on the project archives --> so now become my fault, have to format every single equation, reprint + submit again
the next day --> was told shd have let him see the report earlier so he can tell me the changes, but i have been showing him sections as the days go by but he never made any comments on the formatting --> remember colour pages is crazily ex? the reprint + binding cost me a whooping
$25. i'm bleeding. shiok
Case 4:
Was doing a last flip at my new reports when i realise page 16.. page 17.. page
19.. page 18.. !@#$!@#$ (no no it has nothing to do w my frens who help me with the pages.. i think the aunty kind of mess it up while binding cuz she was rushing off and was on the phone at the same time and there was a moment when she look a bit confused) --> i have to painstakingly remove the binding, exchange the page, put the binding back (Thank God nothing broke). I wanted to let Cases 1 - 3 go, but this is too much for me. hence this post.
Tml I still have to find both profs to submit the reports again but there's always no guarantee they are there in their office. so it's anyone's guess
when i can deliver the thesis into their hands.
From Cases 1 - 4 (not sure whether there're more), I conclude that my thesis report just doesn't like me.
Case 4.5: saw my examiner today to hand him the report, he said he has already read the first part of the report, so instead of exchanging the new for the old, he'll take the new one too and return me both copies later. splendid. now he has a
panorama view of all the changes i've made for my report, page by page, line by line, word for word. ingenious.
QEDok after this i won't complain again. just let me haf this go of complaints ok???
