My Art Folio

this will be BY FAR the post with the most no. of pictures~! i found my pri 6 Art Folio with a collection of pictures drawn when i was pri 5 and 6 (i.e 1995 - 1996). enjoy!

my art folio.

bubble picture, water colour. how did i do that?!

snapshot of basketball match, pencil. yeah i once loved basketball and the NBA.

hmm wad do you call this? i name it "Sectors". tsk. fr an artist-wannabe to half-past-6-mathematician

emoticons before MSN, crayon.

I loved this the most. Save the World, crayon.

i remembered. once upon a time i loved to design games after the end of yr exam. did the real singapore edition of monopoly exist in 1995? haha~

this looks like RI junior block. so i was still drawing in Sec 1? how did it land in my pri 6 art folio?!

thanks for your patience. I'm just so enamored. haha~

my baby~!~!

this is the cutest thing on earth
(again, retrieved from some obscure place on my desk-shelf which i just threw away)

A Relic.

finally threw my wardrobe away after it has served me for a good 17yrs.. while i was moving it out of my room, i found this wunnerful piece of drawing sandwiched between my wardrobe and the adjacent bookshelf:

Look carefully at the bottom right corner: "Gordon Wong. Primary 3E. 15.7.93 - 29.7.93" Goodness, this relic has been around for a good 15 yrs! (i think it's older than some of you reading this entry. tsk.) Yet the colour is still as vibrant as ever! *gasp* But the most amazing thing is that: once upon a time, I COULD ACTUALLY DRAW?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

Perorate. Rant. Complain. Part II

Case II

Date: 27/6/08
Place: NUS Swimming Pool
Time: 4-5pm
Incident:
After flipping thru' endless texts trying to figure out what was going on with my FYP, I decided to go for a dip in the pool.

Friday afternn is not a very gd day to swim @ NUS. the last 4 or 5 lanes were cordoned off for canoe-polo, while the first lane has kids learning how to swim (where do they come fr anyway?). So I have to share a lane with someone else, which is common when the pool is crowded.

The person who was enjoying his lane was obviously not happy to haf another swimmer sharing the lane with him. He refused to keep to the side while he swam, and I have to dodge left and right whenever i want to overtake / swim fr the oppo direction. He even tried to race with me, trying to paddle and waddle furiously when i was trying to overtake him, and whacked me a few times as a result. total donkey. i wondered whether his porcelain ego was hurt.

Dat's not all. he stinks. literally. i can smell him underwater. yes. SMELL. i marvelled how many chlorine molecules he has neutralized and mutated so that i can smell him thru' the sterilizing chlorinated water. i wondered what happens when he's outta water. I think he'll activate the anti bio-weapon squad from SAF faster than it takes for Mas Selamat to do SOC with a limp and no pants. but i digress. it was a horrifying experience everytime i swim past him.

what a specimen (yes, he was another specimen). whatever happened to 5000yrs cheenatus culture? don't they learn how to share, and bathe? even Beethoven (u noe, the movie..?) knows how to do those. ridiculous.

Perorate. Rant. Complain. Part I

I really don't like to rant. but this is really too much. let me explain.

Case I
Date: 26/6/08
Place: On the northbound MRT
Time: 11.20pm - 11.30pm
Incident:
I was going home after having a wunnerful K session @ Orchard. The train (though all the seats were taken) had a lot of standing space. I suppose there's enough room for me to bring the Hulk in w/o causing much discomfort to my fellow passengers.

I berthed on one of the glass panels beside the door, plugged to my V Plus, relishing the relative tranquility after being blasted song after song for 4hrs (tho i enjoyed it =P ). When suddenly at Novena...

"@#@!#@$#%$^$@#@!#^%^&&*%^$#@!#!!"

I looked up and saw 2 male specimens of homo sapiens cheenatus (i coined it) coming into the train. They were LOUD (as usual), and were speaking a language which I was supposed to understand (but i didn't).

One of the specimen walked in front of me and leaned onto the metal grab pole next to the door (the new trains have such vertical grab poles); which means, he was leaning so close to me that i can practically smell him. I glared, first at him, then at his fellow specimen, but they're totally oblivious. The latter even leaned on the door, unwilling to move until the door opened at the next station, where he got a shock.

I wiggled, moved my legs, resisting the urge to give him a HUGE kick at his rear. What is he trying to do? the train has ample standing space, and he HAS to lean right in front of me, trying to get me off the glass pane i suppose. What an idiot.

Actually it was ironic. I was listening to a sharing on 'Thanksgiving', and I was kinda thinking of how to roast him like a turkey. God forbid.

docked.

[Pasir Panjang Wharves. Courtesy of Google Earth]

After months of floating around aimlessly from prof to prof, not knowing who to choose and what to do; finally, i docked.

the process was almost random, but nonetheless amazing.

2 days ago i decided i'm sick of waiting, and has just crafted an email telling Prof A he's the One. Just as i was proof-reading the mail for the 2nd time, hans msn me n said, "try Prof D, he seems to do lots of modelling." hmm, y not? i've waited for months.. surely i can wait a day more; so i shelved that Prof A's email aside and proceed on to mail Prof D.

One day later: silence. I was going to send the former email again when my sis said, "y don't you pray again and wait just one more day?"

Huff. Fine. I'm that close to sending that email. twice.

Today, the mail came from Prof D. "Yes. I can supervise you for the project. The XX model is interesting."

~!~!~! this is the first time any of the Prof used the word "interesting" (actually he wrote "interested". nevermind his goot engrish). most of them sounded "magnanimous" more than anything (ok la.. can take u in la..)

well i dunno whether he's easy to work with, or is he a slave-driver.. it's like docking in the dark when the wharves are not working (he's on sabbatical until end of july, btw)

i really would like to thank all those frens who cared. for reading my forwarded emails. for bothering to reply my sms. for at least asking whether there're any updates. for 'yay-ing' with me. thank God for u all.

no matter wad, praise the Lord. at least ultimately i've docked with Him. come what may, He can't be wrong.

choices.

THE DAILY POEM: Choices

From the Bolton Evening News, first published Tuesday 16th Feb 1999.

Life is full of choices,

We'll always have to make,

But knowing which the right one is,

A risk we have to take.

While standing at the crossroads,

Thinking "which way shall I go?"

Can be a daunting task for you,

I've been there and I know.

You'll ponder on deciding

Which pathway you will tread,

Will you go right, will you go left

Or just forge straight ahead ?

Each choice becomes a pathway,

As yet to you unknown,

It may be uphill all the way,

You'll struggle on your own.

It may be smooth and even,

And happily you'll say,

While dancing merrily along,

"I'm glad I came this way"

Sometimes you'll take the wrong path,

And sadly you'll regret it,

But God won't change the past,

So don't lose heart, forget it.

Believe in your decision,

Whatever else you do,

Whichever path you take in life,

The choice is up to you.

Each path in life is open,

For this you must rejoice,

Thank God you have the option,

Of the freedom in your choice.
